Interview with Mathilde Aubinaud, Associate Director at Havas Paris, Director of #NEWDEAL

Prior to her appointment as Director of #NEWDEAL, Mathilde Aubinaud acquired solid experience in the field of communications over the past decade. She has held various positions within several organizations, most recently at Deloitte.She has also published several books and teaches communications. 

To begin with, could you introduce yourself in a few words? 

Both curious and enthusiastic, I’m a communicator, teacher, and author. An alumnus of the French Press Institute (IFP) at ASSAS and CELSA in branding strategy, I have worked as a communicator in various types of organizations: a start-up, a ministry, a major group, think tanks, and schools. For 10 years now, I’ve been teaching communication, media studies, and competitive examination preparation; a fascinating activity. 

Additionally, I have conducted many interviews with top executives on the notion of audacity – a concept that is very dear to me. These interviews resulted in a book entitled “La Saga des Audacieux.” In it, I interviewed decision-makers, general managers, Michelin-starred chefs, and top athletes. As a little anecdote, I mentioned in this book the Marty sofa, the connected sofa imagined by HAVAS Media, and yes, it was already about HAVAS. 

I’ve also co-authored books on subjects close to my heart: gastronomy, leadership, and, of course, communication. 

As a former auditor of the École de Guerre and member of the Africa Committee, I am delighted to be Associate Director of HAVAS Paris and to lead the #NEWDEAL movement.  

 

Why did you decide to join #NEWDEAL? 

 

First of all, I’ve been fortunate enough to attend a number of #NEWDEAL events over the years: breakfasts, #NEWDEAL Week, and afterworks. #NEWDEAL is a movement that celebrates an economy that is shaping itself differently and transforming. 

 I wanted to be part of this ambitious and positive adventure. The #MANAGERFORINCLUSION operation initiated by Club 21ème siècle and HAVAS Paris, for example, was a real highlight, with some very powerful testimonials. 

 I was struck by the enthusiasm and convictions of Nicolas Narcisse, Executive Vice President of Havas Paris and founder of #NEWDEAL, Marion Rungette, General Secretary of #NEWDEAL, and Amélie Chabrol, whom I am succeeding and whom I salute on this occasion! 

 

Why mobilize stakeholders?  

 

Bringing together members of executive committees, boards of directors, employees, journalists, entrepreneurs and volunteers around the same table is a rare occurrence!  

#NEWDEAL is a fantastic opportunity to get today’s leaders and tomorrow’s leaders talking to each other. As a movement of HAVAS Paris employees, we have an incredible opportunity: the diversity of the Group’s stakeholders. I’m convinced that, more than ever, we need to relearn how to talk to each other.

With Nicolas, Marion and the HAVAS Paris team, we’re going to continue to give resonance to the ideas that are emerging! There are plenty of ideas to positively transform the company. I’m delighted with the collective dimension of #NEWDEAL, and with our partners and community, we’re going to keep up the momentum.
